Another Off The Page Project

Sup! So since I have started making cards, of course I need a place to put them so I got to work making a card box. I decorated a Kaisercraft MDF Beyond The Page Recipe Card Box with Echo Park's Happy Days Collection and this is the result.

Now I am going to get to work filling it with cards for all occasions! Yippee!!

Oh Good!

Sup! So I thought I did not have any of the first cards I made left but I found one so I am posting it now. I inked the edges, cut the papers to fit and inked those too. Punched out and embossed the snowflake. Ran the ribbon behind the paper and put the snowflake on top along with the gem and then just stamped the rest. Good times!

Finally You Made A Stupid Card!!! Also An OTP Project!

Sup! Okay, so I have wanted to start making cards for some time now. I always chicken out. Much like I  did before I started scrapbooking. I decided after making handmade Christmas cards for a lot of my customers that I needed to start. So this is technically my second card but you get the idea. I used leftovers from the layout Back When since I already had them out. I am giving the card to Judy as it contains her Christmas present.

Pretty good for a first time out I must say. I even came up with the design so....go me.
I also decoupaged my mega clothespin I purchased a while back. Here, have a look see.
So the papers on the card were Basic Grey's Lucille collection and the papers on the mega clothespin are October Afternoon, the floral is Woodland Park and the checkerboard is Farmhouse.
Well, there ya have it!

Back When

Sup! Finished another layout for my Aunt Mary's album. This one is a cute pic of the family back when they were kids in New York City.

I used papers from Basic Grey's Lucille collection which I thought fit perfectly with this layout and distressing. I also did a lot of sewing which is the crux of the collection.
The journaling says, "What a great photo, your dad, the doting father. You the caring big sister. Mom the precocious child. Jim the....what the hell is Jim wearing??? Man, those ears too...er, ah...I mean, Jim,...nope....really what was he wearing?"

In terms of supplies used, I don't know who made the crochet flowers and the metal pins are also from the Lucille collection so there just isn't much to list.Well, there ya have it!

For Girls Only, She Can Bring Home That Bacon!

Sup!
This photo is an older one of my Aunt Mary, I'm guessing, taken in the 70's. The quality wasn't very good, it was dark and the top of her head was cut off but I love it. In my head, when I think of her to this day, this is what she looks like. She has a smile that is as bright as the sun.
I am submitting this for the Colorful Creations For Girls Only December Throwback Challenge. The criteria being the photo itself needs to be an older one.
I used my kit from Scraptastic Kit Club which I think may be the best one yet. I adore all the colors.

I cut the title using my iCraft but I didn't choose a cardstock that contrasted enough so I went back and outlined with black ink. Meh, it's okay. The middle piece of paper has a lot of sewing detail but I covered it all with vellum so you can't really see it.... Yup.

A million extra bonus points if anyone can name the yucky 70's perfume ad I am referencing here!
Well, there ya have it!

Um....Go Team???

Sup!
So I have completed my second layout for my mother-in-law's album. Titled, "Um... Go Team???" Let me show you the picture and layout and see if you get the title.

Do ya see it? The photo is of Keith and I as well as our wedding party just moments after we got married. We were trying to show unity by the joining of our hands, Clintons on top because he actually married us but it really just looks like we are all getting ready to lift our hands while yelling Yaaayyy Team!!!! I cannot look at this photo without giggling to myself.

It's not my favorite layout ever, I used my first kit from Studio Calico, 34th street and I gotta tell ya, I am not all that impressed with the kit overall. Not all that much in it. A lot of what you see on the page I had to add on with from my own stash and the choice of papers was pretty crappy. Okay, I don't want to seem all bah humbuggy but I also get the Scraptastic Kit and that one is jam packed with stuff along with papers that, you know, match... It's really a bummer too cause now I am locked into six months with them and I normally love anything Studio Calico so I had really high hopes.
Well, there ya have it!

My Name Is Barnie Launches 2 New Scrapbooks!

Sup!
Well with 2 scrapbooks on their way to their new homes I needed a new project. I've decided to make two scrapbooks, one for my Aunt Mary who is Uh-Maze-Ing and for my Mother-In-Law who is also pretty wonderful. I have other people lined up to make albums for but I decided to keep it to two as any more and I might succeed in accomplishing nothing.
My Name Is Barnie I have Just Met You And Now I Love You is going in my Mother-In-Law's album. An introduction to her fur grandkids. The nice thing about sending albums off to different people is I get to re-scrap the same pictures that are my faves. Yay! This is a re-scrap and my fave photo of Barnie. It is also being submitted into a challenge at Colorful Creations, the Member Spotlight Challenge. Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:

The photos of it came out horrible and I'm not sure why but they don't really do the layout justice. At any rate. I did a lot of background work on this one. I used a mask to ink in the chevrons and then stamped on top of them. I also used a stamp to put in the red honeycomb type texture behind the journaling tag.
I used Little Yellow Bicycle papers that I have had for forever and I thought they worked well with this photo. I think they are from the Saturday collection but I am not sure.
Well there ya have it. I am off to make my first ever card. I am going to send out Christmas cards to our customers at work. Fingers crossed they don't end up looking like a third grade class art project!

All My Life, A Friend And That's A Wrap!

Sup! So I finished my last layout for Lorna's album today. It is titled; "All My Life You're A Friend Of Mine" and I did use a sketch challenge from Purple Pumpkin on this one. If you've not been, go check out Purple Pumpkin, they have an awesome DT and their blog is crazy, bonkers inspiring. Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:

Because my photo was landscape and not portrait, I flipped the whole sketch around half way but after that held pretty true to it. I sewed my beejeebas off on this layout and had a blast doing it. I have come to heart my new sewing machine. I also used my eCraft to cut out part of my title. I have come to heart it also. New toys are awesome.

I used Crate Paper's Acorn Avenue collection. I have fallen in love with Crate Paper all over again recently. I really dig this collection, it is fun and funky and fresh and other adjectives that are cool.
Oh yeah, so the album is now finished and I will send it to her tomorrow.

It was kinda funny, I have been scrapping Lorna and her family exclusively for the past little bit so I felt a little confused and disoriented when I had to choose a new photo to scrap tonight that was NOT Lorna related.
I am also sending my mom an album of mine that is full so I think that means I am now free to scrap any of the photos that were in there since I no longer have them right? Yay!
Well, there ya have it.
